Mail migration schedule

March 29, 2022 by Stacey, Craig

This announcement is being sent out to anyone with a mailbox on the ANL Zimbra server in MCS, CELS, or ALCF rather than the broader CELS Systems Announcements list. You can also find this on the MCS Systems Blog at http://www.mcs.anl.gov/systems/blog, and the Systems Twitter feed at http://twitter.com/mcssys.
CIS is expecting to be able to start migrating MCS/LCF/CELS Zimbra users to Exchange beginning in mid to late October. Our group is going to work out a preliminary schedule for this migration, with the general expectation being 100 mailbox accounts per week.
If you have a reason to delay your migration (travel, upcoming events, etc.) between now and the end of November and would like to be instead scheduled in December, please send a note to [email protected] indicating as such. Otherwise, we will include you in the scheduled moves prior to Thanksgiving.
Once you’re scheduled, you’ll get contacted by the CIS migration team who will walk you through the process. The MCS Systems Group is going to be migrated first, currently scheduled for October 14. Other migrations are tentatively scheduled to start 10/21.
As part of the migration, CIS will provide documentation and instructions on how to access your new mailbox. MCS Systems will help where we can.
Thanks!
