Making sure Windows machines are up to date

March 29, 2022 by Stacey, Craig

As you’re no doubt aware, a malware worm has been infecting Windows machines around the internet. If you run your own Windows machine (even if it’s a VM), you really need to ensure it’s current on its patch level to prevent it from infecting and spreading.
This link from Microsoft lays out the details, but the key is to run Windows Update and ensure you’re current, or at least running MS17-010 security patch.
https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/msrc/2017/05/12/customer-guidance-for-wannacrypt-attacks/
If your machine is not self-managed, we’re making sure the right patches are applied.
You’ll want to patch any personal machines as well.
Thanks.
