I’ll post a full post mortem later, but the short story is the version of confluence we were running was vulnerable to various exploits, and required updating before we could bring it back online due to evidence some of those weaknesses were exploited.
We see no evidence of data loss or exposure, but are continuing to investigate.
The new server is at the most recent version, and aside from some cosmetic changes, things look to be behaving as expected.
