Internal-facing gitlab maintenance on Thursday, May 20, 9AM

The legacy gitlab servers are still operational and in need of updates.  We have two git servers in Legacy:

  • gitlab.cels.anl.gov which is internal only (no access from outside Argonne)
  • xgitlab.cels.anl.gov which is the one most of you are using.

We will be taking down gitlab.cels.anl.gov on Thursday morning at 9AM to get it up to a supported version.  This outage will have no effect on xgitlab.cels.anl.gov or git.cels.anl.gov.

Once we have a handle on any potential pitfalls during that process, we will schedule a maintenance weekend in which we will apply these updates to both xgitlab.cels.anl.gov (Legacy) and git.cels.anl.gov (GCE).  As noted, that outage will be during a weekend.
