Systems Newsletter, October 2021 (Part 1: Arrivals and departures)
We’re overdue for a newsletter, and there’s a lot to cover, so I’m going to do this in two parts. Today’s will be short and sweet, since I’m going to focus on some staffing changes you need to be aware of.
Tim Livolsi is going to be off on parental leave through October and a chunk of November with his new baby who was born on Thursday. Congrats, Tim! If you’ve been relying on Tim directly for things, please let us know at [email protected] so we can ensure things don’t go south or get lost.
I sadly also have to announce a departure. Dan Murphy-Olson joined our team in the spring of 2010, and now in the fall of 2021, we’re going to wish him well as he moves on to something new. I can’t overstate Dan’s contributions to the team, the directorate, and the lab. We’re really going to miss having him around. We’re still figuring out how this is all going to play out in the long term, but in the interim we’re going to be stretched a bit thinner while we work it out.
Dan’s last day with us will be Oct 22.
Please, reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. A little later this week I’ll be sending out part 2 going over new services from us, from BIS, and timelines on retiring the Legacy environment. Stay tuned.
