Apple OS update required immediately (including Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, etc.)

August 22, 2022 by Stacey, Craig

Hi, everyone.  There was an announcement about this sent out by the lab on Friday, but we can see there are a number of computers that still have not applied the required updates.  This is not an optional update, and needs to be taken care of ASAP.  It will require a reboot as part of the process.

It’s also worth noting this is not just for macOS laptop, but Apple’s mobile devices as well.  It is addressing a serious security issue, and the longer you are unpatched the more at risk you are of having your computer actively exploited, and your data stolen.

We’re going to send a notification to all the Macs we know of that need the update, but I wanted to send this notice as well, since there are a number of machines we don’t in any way manage, including personal devices, and it’s important you understand the urgency of this.

If you have any doubts if you’re up to date, simply click the apple logo in the upper left of your screen, click “System Preferences”, and then “Software Update”.  If you have any pending updates, they will show up there.  If you need help, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Thanks!

Apple has released updates to its MacOS and iOS operating systems to address critical vulnerabilities. Please update all Apple devices as soon as possible. More information is available online.
