Reminder: Building 240 Data Center Power Outage, July 28-31.

Please see our previous announcement on this for more backstory.

As always, the systems administrators of specific systems (LCRC, ALCF, etc.) will notify you of the specific outage windows for their systems.  This announcement mostly serves as a general reminder and to highlight the aspects of GCE and Legacy that are affected.

All Legacy-related systems will go offline tomorrow afternoon, starting around noon.

The following general use GCE compute nodes will go offline tomorrow, starting around noon.

  • compute-macos-01.cels.anl.gov
  • compute-macos-02.cels.anl.gov
  • compute-macos-03.cels.anl.gov
  • compute-240-10.cels.anl.gov
  • compute-240-11.cels.anl.gov
  • compute-240-12.cels.anl.gov
  • compute-240-13.cels.anl.gov
  • compute-240-14.cels.anl.gov
  • compute-240-15.cels.anl.gov

Project-specific compute nodes hosted in 240 (petsc, pmrs, powell, fletcher, et al.) will all follow this schedule.

As noted in the announcement from T5 to building occupants, the building will be losing power.  Desktops will be inaccessible.

We will start bringing the above systems back online Monday morning, and will send an all clear when we expect things to be back to normal.
